Rainbow Beach Central Corridor Planning Agreement

This consultation has now concluded.

Council has received an offer from St Vincents Foundation to enter into a voluntary planning agreement in connection with Development Application 2016-465 for subdivision of land and associated infrastructure at Ocean Drive, Lake Cathie.

The planning agreement updates and replaces the Rainbow Beach Central Corridor Planning Agreement that was entered into in December 2011.

Provisions of the planning agreement:

  • Update and replaces the Rainbow Beach Central Corridor Planning Agreement 2011.
  • The maintenance of environmental land including three additional areas that were not in the initial VPA,
  • Revised timing for the base level construction and dedication of the district sporting fields,
  • Construction of a collector road to the sporting fields,
  • Payment of a development contribution of $350,000 towards upgrading of Houston Mitchell/Ocean Drive intersection,
  • Dedication of road widening land,
  • Development to proceed on land that does not require filling without the requirement for completion of the environmental land establishment,
  • Construction of board walks and a local park and offsets against payment of development contributions for certain works.
  • Provision of a security to secure performance of obligations under the agreement.

Notice is also given of the revocation of the Rainbow Beach Central Corridor Planning Agreement between Council and St Vincents Foundation dated 22 December 2011.

Any person may inspect the agreement and make a written submission until the close of business Wednesday 31 January 2018.
