We want to hear from you!

2018 marks 200 years since John Oxley and his team of 15 explorers traversed the mountains from the west and surveyed our region for early European settlement. 2021 marks 200 years since Europeans established the township of Port Macquarie as a penal settlement. For thousands of years before either of those events our region was inhabited by the Birpai people, the traditional custodians of our land.

John Oxley and many of our earliest European settlers were struck by the natural beauty of our region, the abundant local fauna and the warm nature of our local Aboriginal population.

To commemorate these milestones and to help the community come together and celebrate this rich and diverse region, Council wants to hear your ideas! Head to the ideas tab below to share your event or activity idea, or share a Story about a local place or space dear to your heart.
