Bonny Hills coastline

Thankyou to all those who contributed to the development of the Bonny Hills Reserves Master Plan. This plan has now been formally adopted by Council having been endorsed at the 21 July, 2022 Ordinary Council Meeting.

The draft Bonny Hills Reserves Master Plan is on public exhibition until 11 February 2021. During this time you are invited to have your say and tell us what you think about the proposed draft Master Plan.

The current version of the Master Plan builds on the original proposal endorsed by Council in 2012. A review and update of that plan was the result of a prioritised action in the Bonny Hills Community Plan, adopted by Council in October 2019. Since that time we have undertaken extensive consultation with the community and core stakeholder groups, with their feedback informing updates to the Master Plan. The Master Plan attempts to balance the needs and views of the community as a whole across the following reserves:

  • Rainbow Beach Estate Reserve
  • Rainbow Beach Estate
  • Community Hall Reserve
  • Spooneys Bay Reserve
  • Bartletts Beach Reserve
  • Shelly Beach Reserve
  • Reservoir Reserve

We know that the Bonny Hills community is highly engaged and passionate about the future of reserves in their coastal village. The resounding response throughout engagement sessions has been a strong desire to protect the natural environment and retain the village character. Linkages, cycle-ways and pedestrian connectivity is important to the community as the area grows and people seek to enjoy their lifestyle and improve liveability across the village. A desire to access reserves, recreation spaces, shops and beaches on pathways that are accessible to all, safe and sensitive to the environment is also important. Find out what else we’ve discovered by reading the Bonny Hills Reserves Community Engagement Report.

Each reserve has unique characteristics and collectively, the reserves provide an important recreational space for the Bonny Hills community and beyond. Please tell us what you think about the Master Plan using the survey feature below.
