As part of improving how we manage commercial use of our public spaces, a draft Commercial Activities on Council-managed Land Policy is currently on exhibition.
There are many commercial activities conducted on Council-managed land in the Port Macquarie-Hastings area which contribute to a great and vibrant public space and offer valued services to locals and visitors. These include water activities (surf schools, stand up paddle, kayaks etc), personal or group training, boot camps or any other activity using beaches, parks and reserves.
Council is seeking to find a way to ensure these spaces can be used safely, enjoyed by all and adequately maintained. The draft Commercial Activities on Council-managed Land Policy proposes a way forward.
What is the Commercial Activities on Council-managed Land Policy?
See Frequently Asked Questions under the Document library.
What will the Policy do?
The Policy will encourage commercial activity while ensuring all commercial users of Council-managed Land are appropriately licensed and insured.
