Community Strategic Plan - Think 2050

The Community Strategic Plan (CSP) is an overarching 10 year plan that is prepared by Council and the community based on community priorities. It enables Council to coordinate its funding priorities, activities and services.

As part of the Integrated Planning and Reporting requirements for the NSW Office of Local Government, the CSP is the highest level of planning that a Council is required to complete and all other plans developed as part of the integrated planning and reporting system support the Community Strategic Plan. The plan also responds to state, metropolitan and regional plans and priorities relevant to the Port Macquarie-Hastings region.

It is now time to get our community involved in helping us come up with our future vision with ideas, and actions to develop a new CSP and understand what the expectations of our changing community are over the next 30 years.

Think 2050 is centred on engaging with everyone in our community from those that live, work, study, attend school or do business, as well as those that shop or visits our beautiful region. We all have an interest in our place and we all have the opportunity to Think 2050 and create our future together.

Our CSP should:

  • Inform the strategic decision-making that will shape our future community and environment;
  • Protect and enhance the community’s values and everything that makes our region unique;
  • Pave the way for the future by anticipating change and the impacts of that change on the community, economy and environment; and
  • Achieve inclusivity, sustainability, accountability and innovation in service delivery.

We are calling on all residents and visitors to Think 2050 and provide us with your thoughts, ideas and feedback about what you love about our community, what we need, what we should change and how we can overcome our challenges. What would you like to see by 2050?

Your feedback is a critical part of the planning process. You can have your say by:

Or for further information you can contact Port Macquarie-Hastings Council’s Engagement team on (02) 6581 8111.

You don’t need to write your feedback in any particular style or format, as long as you tell us what you think. Feedback should be received in writing no later than 5pm on 31 May 2020.
