    FORMAL LAYOUT

A feature of the park will be to formalise the space and use sandstone blocks as a retaining edge to the existing softfall.

The space at the moment is very 'square and closed in. Tree planting that follows a concentric pattern will help the playground feel more friendly and will partially screen the surrounding fences and houses.

    CONCRETE PATH

A concrete path to join the existing path to the west and continuing through the park will make it more walk friendly and will hopefully encourage more users into the park. It will also form the northern edge of the softfall area helping to connect the playground equipment.

    SHADE

Nottingham Park does not have many mature shade trees. Planting more trees will provide future shade. Plants with lots of flowers will can also provide lots of color.

    PLAY EQUIPMENT

Play equipment is a natural draw card for children and parents. This along with more 'natural play' equipment has been included so that there is more to do in the playground. The play equipment is proposed to use the existing softfall area and is to include swings and a new climbing structure. The natural play area is to include large stone blocks of different shapes and sizes to provide an interesting climbing structure

    GRASS HILL

A grass hill in the north western corner will reduce the noise to nearby houses and provide more shade tree planting.

    SEATING

Reuse of the existing bench seat along with an additional picnic setting that anyone visiting the park can use.
