This project is now completed.
Wayne Richards Park is continuing to be developed, the latest project to commence this week is the extension of the Port Macquarie Urban Mountain Bike Park. As is consistent with the Council adopted Wayne Richards Master Plan a mountain bike pump track is to be constructed.
A pump track is a continuous loop of dirt berms and “rollers” (smooth dirt mounds) that you ride without pedaling which is ideal for increasing a riders skills and the development of younger riders.
The project is being managed by Hastings Valley Mountain Bike Riders, with construction and final design, being delivered by Trialscapes - Australian Trail Builders. The delivery of the project is made possible by a NSW Sport and Recreation grant of $25,000.
Works will commence later this week and is likely to be completed in early November, weather permitting.
Do have a look at the draft concept design in the document library. Please note the design may vary upon completion.
