Wayne Richards Park Bike Track Upgrade
Engagement on this project is now completed
The pump track at Wayne Richards Park is about to get an upgrade and we invite you to have your say on the draft concept design.
The project is a $350,000 investment funded by the Australian Government through the Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Grant and is focused on creating a new and improved asphalt pump track on the site of the existing dirt track.
Pump tracks are growing in popularity globally and we are totally on board! They are a playground for everything on wheels (recreational and non-motorised). Your new pump track will be progressive, which means that a wide range of users, with varying skill levels will be able to use it.
Once complete, the new pump track will significantly increase usability of the track and compliment the surrounding existing mountain bike tracks. The project also includes improved drainage, landscaping, and hardstand areas.
Concept Design and Construction
Specialist, international track designer Velosolutions has been appointed to carry out the design and construction of the pump track. This is a specialised track to be delivered within the scope of the grant funding.
Targeted stakeholder consultation was undertaken in the development of the concept design and we are now seeking your feedback.
Construction is expected to start in October and be completed in December this year (weather permitting).
