Consultation has concluded

We understand that car parking is an issue of concern for the community, and we are actively working to make sure a management plan is put in place to meet our region’s short-term and future parking needs. We have developed the Draft Parking Strategy and Policy and Draft Parking Management Plan 2023, and these documents are now being placed on public exhibition for community viewing and feedback.

What is the parking policy and action plan about?

The purpose of the plan is to provide an overarching, region-wide policy position and tailored parking management actions in particular focus areas. This will make sure that we are achieving the best parking and accessibility outcomes for the region and its towns and villages.

While the review looked at the whole region, there are a number of areas that we have focused on. These areas include Port Macquarie West, Port Macquarie East, Lake Road Industrial, Wauchope, North Haven and Laurieton. We focused on these areas as they currently experience high parking demand and challenges.
