Consultation has concluded

An important component of public sector governance is establishing key policies and ensuring they are clear, available, regularly updated and monitored for compliance. The Planning Proposal Policy aims to improve efficiencies and provide consistency in the components of the plan-making process that are required by the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) or any other government departments and within the control of Council.

The Planning Proposal Policy was adopted by Council at the Ordinary Meeting on 11 December 2019 and came into effect on 5 February 2020. At that time this Policy was a new policy to inform and educate the community regarding the process and requirements for the submission of Planning Proposals to amend the Council's Local Environmental Plan 2011 (LEP).

This Planning Proposal Policy has been reviewed in accordance with Section 4(f)(ii) of this Policy and to incorporate the requirements of the DPE's new Local Environmental Plan Making Guideline which came into effect on 15 December 2021. The list of proposed changes to this Policy can be found in the Council Meeting Agenda in the Document Library to the right (or below if viewing this page on a mobile device).
