Playground Update

Thank you for your Round 1 feedback. Our Project Team has developed a final concept plan for construction. This shows all play elements planned for this playground, please note some minor adjustments may occur with path alignment and placement of items may occur during the construction phase. To see the final plan please refer to the document Library (to the right of your screen).

Construction is planned to commence in February 2020 with an estimated completion date of the end of March 2020. For the safety of the community there will be temporary fencing around the works area.

Play is for everyone, our playspaces should be too!

This year, the NSW Government collaborated with local government, design experts and disability advocates to create Everyone Can Play in NSW, a practical toolkit for creating playspaces in which everyone belongs.

It might be as simple as including a path for a wheelchair or pram from the carpark to the playspace, making sure there’s enough shade or even a back on the seat, so a grandparent can comfortably watch their grandchildren learn and explore the world through play.

Council is applying for grant funding to upgrade the Playground at Blair St Reserve at Lighthouse Beach using the principles of Everyone Can Play so that we can create a great playground for people of all ages, abilities and cultures.

We would love your ideas about what you would like to see for the upgraded play area.

Take a look at the draft Everyone Can Play guidelines in our document library (to the right) or view the short video.

Have your Say about the upgrade for the Blair St Reserve playground at Lighthouse Beach by completing the survey in the Playground Survey tab below.

Survey closes Sunday December 16th.

You can also visit our Project Team on site at the Blair Street Reserve between 3pm-4.30pm Tuesday 11th December to gives us your ideas.
