Consultation for this community plan has now closed.

The Camden Haven community have been working together with Council in a Community-Council Action Team to create a Community Plan for your area.

The Plan is a community-led blueprint which reflects the aspirations, strengths and what is special or unique about the area; the character, lifestyle, urban amenity, social image, economy and environment, and the vision that the community has for its future.

Ongoing community planning is a key process in developing a strong partnership between Council and the community and will enable Council to:

  • Understand what community's value;
  • Understand the issues and priorities for each community;
  • Better incorporate these priorities into Council’s planning framework;
  • Work together to deliver the identified priorities.

The Camden Haven Community Plan evolved from:

  • An online and postcard survey in September 2018;
  • Two Community Think Tanks in October 2018 where members of the community came together to draft a vision and identify actions that they would like to see delivered in the next 5-10 years;
  • Monthly meetings of the Community-Council Action Team (C-CAT) that was formed by community members and Council to further develop the Community Plan and to prioritise and ensure delivery of the identified actions.

Share your thoughts with us!

Before we can start working on the delivery of the actions, we want to hear from you!

The Community Plan will be available for comment from Monday 23 September until Sunday 20 October and during that time, the document can be downloaded from the Document Library (to the right) and copies will be made available at the Laurieton library and the Club North Haven.

Please share your thoughts with us on the Community Plan by:

  • Completing the online survey below; or

  • Sending an email to communityplans@pmhc.nsw.gov.au; or

  • Speaking to a member of the Community-Council Action Team (as outlined in the Plan); or

  • Posting your response to Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, PO Box 84, Port Macquarie NSW 2444.

Your feedback should be received no later than Sunday 20 October 2019.

All comments will be considered before finalising the Community Plan and Action Plan, which will be presented to the Councillors for endorsement at the November 2019 Council meeting.

The Community-Council Action Team will then work on the delivery of the actions identified and prioritised in the Action Plan.
