Consultation has concluded
Port Macquarie Airport is owned and operated by Port Macquarie - Hastings Council (PMHC). PMHC wishes to implement a strategic and sustainable approach to the management and offsetting of environmental impacts associated with the long-term operation and future development of essential infrastructure related to the Airport.
PMHC is proposing to undertake clearing of native vegetation associated with the implementation of the Port Macquarie Airport Master Plan and to undertake vegetation clearing on Council owned land for future residential and industrial development in the Thrumster Urban Release Area, Port Macquarie, NSW.
The proposed action has been determined to be a “controlled action” under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act and will therefore require assessment and approval under the EPBC Act before it can proceed. The controlling provision under the EPBC Act is “Listed threatened species and communities” (Sections 18 and 18A) and the assessment approach is through Preliminary Documentation.
The draft preliminary documentation for this proposal and associated appendices are available for viewing in the Document Library (see right).
Council is seeking your feedback on this documentation.
