Consultation on this plan has now concluded. Submissions are now being reviewed and prepared for a report to Council.
Council is planning for future conservation and development within the Fernbank Creek and Sancrox areas west of Port Macquarie. This planning will balance the growth of our community with protecting areas of high conservation value and avoiding areas of high environmental risk.
As part of this investigation, in January 2020 Council developed a Discussion Paper to undertake a preliminary review of the opportunities and limitations of the area and to seek community feedback. Feedback received as a result of the public exhibition of this Discussion Paper is currently being used to inform the development of a Draft Structure Plan for this area to guide future conservation and development outcomes. Preparation of this Structure Plan is now in progress and has included commencement of specialist studies and the preparation of the Draft Structure Plan document in consultation with key project stakeholders.
