Port Macquarie-Hastings Council maintains 66 playgrounds across the municipality. In 2017/18 we are upgrading Laura Place Reserve in Lakewood, Laurieton.
New features for the playground will include a new flying fox, swing set with toddler seat, spinners and picnic table.
Key objectives for the upgrade include:
More shade and seating
Diversity of equipment
Addition of natural play elements eg logs, and rocks
Upgraded softfall and edging
A final Concept Planhas been developed and is available for viewing. Laura Place incorporates low steppers to add an extra balancing play element and modifications to the existing playground equipment both to allow the playground to be more accessible to younger children in response to feedback received.
