Consultation has concluded

We have received funding for a new play space at Andrews Park. The new play space will incorporate existing recreational infrastructure, so in addition to existing BBQ and picnic settings the draft concept design includes a range of equipment including:

  • Nest swing
  • Bullock Cart
  • A series of nature play equipment such as log steppers and a balance beam.

You can see the plan for the new play space in the documents section on the right-hand side of this page.

The new play space location has been chosen specifically to capitalise on the co-location benefits with the Andrews Park sporting facilities. The co-location of play spaces with sports fields and associated amenities like seating, shade, public toilets and parking increases the usability, enjoyment, and accessibility of the entire facility. This strategic placement encourages families and individuals to participate in diverse forms of physical activity, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle within the community.

Andrews and Landrigan Parks Master Plan

The recently adopted Andrews and Landrigan Parks Master Plan outlines our priority for the building of multi-use hard courts as stage 1. The installation of this play space does not affect our plans to install those courts; we are still planning to have them constructed by June 2025. These courts are funded by the Australian Government with a $350,000 investment via the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
