Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2022-25

As a community we connect, we talk, we play and we grieve together.Our coastline, beaches and ocean attract thousands of locals and visitors every year. Lost at Sea - a Place to Connect and Remember

The vibrancy and growth of the Laurieton CBD has faced many challenges over the past several years. Satellite commercial areas, online buying, drought, bushfires and more recently COVID-19 have all had dramatic and ongoing impacts on the Laurieton town centre.The Laurieton town centre will look at an expanded precinct that includes the existing CBD and provide connections through to the river and surrounding areas to create an activated and vibrant community heart that attracts business and visitors alike.In December 2020, Council, in partnership with the Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce (LTCMP Steering Group) and the general community undertook an Enquiry by Design (EbD) with the aim to inform a <a href="https://haveyoursay.pmhc.nsw.gov.au/73788/widgets/357517/documents/219661">Draft Laurieton Town Centre Master Plan.</a> We engaged consultants, Hatch Roberts Day to develop a Draft Master Plan with consideration of community feedback and the outcomes of the EbD. Laurieton Town Centre Master Plan

It&rsquo;s been a tough two years for our region. The strength our communities have shown through bushfires, floods - and a global pandemic - has been incredible.To help our communities prepare for future emergencies, we want to work with you to develop Community Emergency Response Plans (CERP&rsquo;s) which outlines a clear process, should our region face any more disasters.We would like your input to build these plans. You&rsquo;ve lived through the disasters, you&rsquo;ve responded to each situation with remarkable solidarity - and you&rsquo;ve supported each other, to tackle each new challenge. Community meetings will take place in 2022 throughout our LGA so if you would like to take part in this important process, <a href="/community-emergency-response-plans?tool=survey_tool&tool_id=registration-of-interest#tool_tab">please register now</a>.We will be holding meetings across 12 locations within our LGA, and will be rolling them out in a staggered approach over the next 6 months. The goal for all of our Community Meetings is to hold them face to face with no restrictions on attendance, so we will be closely monitoring the current COVID19 restrictions and proceeding accordingly.

Community Emergency Response Plans

Log Wharf Reserve in Telegraph Point is primarily used as a boat launching and rest area, with great potential to be an activated and vibrant community recreation destination. The Log Wharf Reserve Draft Master Plan is a community-driven project involving both the Telegraph Point Community Association and the Telegraph Point Community-Council Action Team with the project being identified as a key action in the Telegraph Point Community Plan. A draft plan was created by the Community Association which was further developed into the draft master plan. Now we want to hear your thoughts!
