Bonny Hills Pathway
Consultation has concluded
A new 1.5-metre pathway has been designed for Bonny Hills and you are invited to have your say.
The new pathway will provide safer pedestrian options - connecting locals and visitors with businesses, holiday accommodation and recreation spaces in the heart of the coastal village.
The pathway connects with an existing path at Panorama Drive, crosses over Ocean Drive at Beach Street and continues up to the bus stop across the road from Graham Street.
Due to site conditions, particularly steep terrain, and limited road reserve along the surf-side, constructing the entire pathway on one side was not possible.
The reactivation of the existing, on-road bike lanes, along with the width of the path means that on-street parking will not be possible on this stretch of road.
The project forms part of our broader plan to provide better connectivity for our increasing number of active transport users such as cyclists and pedestrians.
The $1.8m project is being funded under the Australian Government Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Program.
