Changes to Water and Sewer Development Charges

Consultation has concluded

Development charges are fees that apply to new development and redevelopment that contribute to the cost of providing infrastructure and services including water supply and sewerage.
Developer charges are worked out using what is called Equivalent Tenement (ET). One ET is the requirement that a 'normal' residential lot with a single dwelling. Charges have recently been reviewed and based on anticipated growth and future work new charges have been calculated.

To have your say:
For more information contact Group Manager Environment Services, Tim Molloy on (02) 6581 8111 or via email: tim.molloy@pmhc.nsw.gov.au

Note: The proposed developer charges also include a cross subsidy. A cross subsidy means a reduction in the calculated developer charge and is income forgone from developer charges that has to be raised from annual charges. For water supply, the proposed average cross subsidy per assessment, per year would be less than $0.50c. For sewerage, the proposed average cross subsidy per assessment, per year would be approximately $9.00.
