Thank you for your interest in this project. This consultation has now concluded.

Port Macquarie Hastings Council provides 11 unleashed and 6 leashed dog areas across the municipality. In 2018/19 we are looking to integrate unleashed dog areas into 2 new locations: Stuart Park, Port Macquarie and Blackbutt Park, Wauchope.

We have recently constructed a similar area at Henry Kendall Reserve in Laurieton and are working on designs for one at the new sports grounds on Stoney Creek Road in Wauchope.

Key objectives for each park include:

  • An enclosed fenced area
  • Picnic area and seating
  • Diversity of dog agility equipment
  • Hygienic dual water fountain for humans and dogs
  • Footpaths
  • Shaded areas
  • Waste bins
  • Signage including rules and information for the use of the park.

Port Macquarie Hastings Council is asking the community to provide feedback on the proposed locations and kinds of elements you would like to see in the park before Friday 17 August 2018.
