Roadworks

Councils future planning documents are currently in the draft stage. These documents outline Council’s proposed actions, activities, projects and budget for the 2018-2019 financial year.

During 2018-2019 Council will continue its focus on maintaining and upgrading our sealed and unsealed road network, bridges and roadside vegetation; invest in providing a reliable and safe sewerage network, water supply and related services; provide efficient and environmentally friendly waste services; maintain and upgrade our regions playgrounds, sporting fields and open recreation spaces; and provide stormwater maintenance and monitoring services.

Key projects that are proposed include:

  • More than $2 million in road resealing works across the region
  • More than $1 million in playground and reserve improvements
  • Stage 1 development of the Hastings Regional Sports Fields
  • Planning to provide centralised sewerage systems in Comboyne, Long Flat and Telegraph Point
  • Commencement of upgrades to the Port Macquarie Airport terminal
  • A new water trunk main from the Pacific Hwy to Bonny Hills

  • Draft 2017-2021 Delivery Program (DP) (Revised 2018)
    Developed by the newly elected council following the September 2016 local election to cover a four year period 2017-2021. It outlines Council’s commitment to the Port Macquarie-Hastings community during the four year term of office. These commitments focus on achieving strategic goals of the Community Strategic Plan (CSP), that are translated into actions relating to individual projects and activities detailed in the Operational Plan (OP).
  • Draft 2018-2019 Operational Plan (OP)
    A one year sub-plan of the Delivery Program that lists individual actions that will be undertaken during the financial year. The Operational Plan also includes, Schedule of Fees and Charges, Revenue Policy and Rating Maps.

The plans are on exhibition until 22 April 2018 and a viewing copy is available at Council Libraries and Customer Services Centres in Laurieton, Port Macquarie and Wauchope.
