Kendall Tennis Club

Consultation on this proposal has concluded

Update 9 January 2015: The date for close of submissions has been extended till 25 January, 2015

Background:

The need for additional tennis facilities in Kendall has been known for some time. Following community involvement In 2010, land has been purchased in Orara Street from the Country Rail Infrastructure Authority.

A Plan of Management (POM) is an important document that sets in place agreements about how the land will be managed. A POM has now been developed for the future site of the Kendall Tennis Club with the objectives:

  • to encourage, promote and facilitate recreational pursuits in the community involving organised and informal sporting activities and games, and
  • to ensure that such activities are managed having regard to any adverse impact on nearby residences.
The POM proposes a lease of the land to the Kendall Tennis Club for a period up to 30 Years for the delivery sporting, community & recreation programs. It is the expectation of Kendall Tennis Club that the lease will permit future application for a Liquor License for the facility.

How can I get involved?
  • Have a look at the draft Plan of Management
  • Attend a public meeting being held on Tuesday 20 January, 2015 at the Kendall RSL Club from 6-7pm (no registration required)
  • Tell us what you think by writing a submission using the tab below (closes 25 January 2015)
