Kew Main St upgrade commences

The main street in Kew will see some changes in the coming weeks as the first stage of important upgrade works commence to improve safety, and to beautify the area.

Upgrades will focus on a number of safety and streetscape improvements including the installation of new kerbing, planting of gardens, improvements to existing pedestrian refuges and the extension of central medians.

$100,000 from Council’s 2017/2018 Operational Plan will be invested in the works that will take place over the next 4-6 weeks.

The local community have identified a number of future upgrades to focus on as part of the plan. These include modifications to the roundabout to enhance safety, and a reconfiguration of the car park adjacent to the Kew Corner Store.
