Consultation has concluded

Based on feedback from the local community, Port-Macquarie Hastings Council has produced preliminary concept plans for a proposed upgrade of Ocean Drive between Miala Street and Ernest Street in Lake Cathie.

The proposed project will be split into two sections, Section A being between Miala Street and Fiona Crescent. Section B being between Fiona Crescent and Ernest Street. Council doesn’t have a preferred option in terms of which section it will seek funding to build first and will leave this decision to the Lake Cathie community.

The upgrade will include a two-lane carriageway with a planted median strip separating the two lanes. The width of the road corridor will be widened to allow for Ocean Drive to be duplicated into a four-lane road in the future.

Pedestrian and cycling paths will be provided on both sides of the road and roundabouts will be installed at the Ocean Drive intersections of Fiona Crescent and Kywong Street to improve traffic flow and the efficiency of these intersections.

To provide the community with the opportunity to speak to staff about the project and to provide feedback two information sessions have been scheduled in Lake Cathie.

Session one:

Date: Monday 27th August

Time: From 6pm to 7:30pm

Location: Lake Cathie Community Centre. 3 Mullaway Rd, Lake Cathie.

Session two:

Date: Saturday 1st September

Time: From 10am to 12pm

Location: Lake Cathie Shopping Centre (in front of Woolworths)
