Lake Cathie

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has prepared a Master Plan to guide the future of the Lake Cathie Foreshore, a site that is significant to the coastal township of Lake Cathie and the Greater Port Macquarie communities.

Community participation in this Master Planning process is vital and Council is keen to see strong participation by the community in developing the future vision and use of the Lake Cathie Foreshore. The next six months will feature a range of opportunities for the community to build on this previous work and contribute to the development of the Master Plan.

The Lake Cathie Foreshore Masterplan concept is available now for viewing from the document library located to the right of your screen (or below on mobile devices).

Proposed features include a fenced playground and picnic areas, new cycle / footpaths, parking facilities and family skate and recreation park.

20 local Lake Cathie residents joined Council Staff on Saturday 14 Oct as Part of the Lake Cathie Foreshore Master Plan Think Tank.

The aim of the workshop was to assist the community group to develop an initial vision and goals for the Lake Cathie foreshore, ending with the group drawing up their ideas into a concept design.

The initial postcard campaign and workshop are the first steps in many Council will undertake in talking to our local community about what they want for Lake Cathie Foreshore space over the coming years.
