Consultation has concluded

Thank you for Having Your Say on this project. The Engagement Report is now available for viewing.

Unlike our plans or strategies, the Discussion Paper itself does not get updated or adopted into our suite of planning documents. Council’s Strategic Planning team will consider feedback received when reviewing both the Local Strategic Planning Statement and Urban Growth Management Strategy.

Council Meeting Agendas and Speaking at a Public Forum

A report on the Discussion Paper outcomes will be tabled at the 20 March 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting. You can view the agenda and apply to speak these items at the relevant Council meeting by application on our website.

Join the conversation about how we are planning for our region's growing population.

The Planning and Land Use Planning Discussion Paper is now on Public Exhibition.

Over the next 20 years we will welcome 22,045 people into our region. We will need to build 12,278 dwellings to house this growing community.

How will we do this while protecting our environment, lifestyle, and community values?

We have developed the Planning and Land Use Discussion Paper to highlight the challenges and opportunities associated with land use planning and to encourage community conversation around this topic.

Your feedback will guide us as we consolidate outdated plans and create a central, Local Strategic Planning Statement for the region.

We have created an information brochure to break down the concepts of the Discussion Paper and invite you to review these before making a submission or attending one of our Community Conversation sessions. We have also include FAQs and other supporting information that you can find in the related documents section on the right hand side of this page.
