Consultation has concluded

Background

As the second stage of the Town Green West Upgrade, our popular Town Green playground is due for an upgrade! This follows on from stage 1 which included the upgrade to the foreshore pathway and reserve.

The project continues on from the Town Green East upgrade which was completed earlier in 2017 and will extend the community space from the east and provide a significant space for the community and visitors to enjoy the foreshore and CBD.

Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2021 with the upgrade expected to be complete by October 2021.

The upgrades to Town Green West, including the Town Green Playground is a $2.4 million project, with $500,000 provided by the Town Centre Masterplan Committee (through contributions levied on commercial property owners within the Port Macquarie CBD). The Australian Government has provided $1.5 million through a Community Development Grant, and an additional $400,000 through the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund to deliver the Bicentennial Walkway, which is jointly funded with the NSW Government.
