Skate ParkWith a new skate park and expanded playground the Town Beach reserve has become a well used, popular community space.

To cater for the number of people now using this space Council put temporary amenities on site last summer and allocated funds in the 2012/13 financial year budget to build permanent facilities that include a kiosk, picnic tables and amenities.

$45,000 in funding has also been provided from the Department of Health and Ageing, Healthy Communities Initiative to install fixed exercise equipment in the Town Beach reserve.

A further federal funding allocation of up to $400,000 is available to create improvements to the access, parking and facilities within the reserve.

Council want to ensure that these projects are all tied together and achieve the best outcome using the various funding sources.

    Come down to Town Beach reserve between 10am - 2pm on Saturday December 8 to take a look at the concept plans, talk to staff and have your say.

    Staff will be available at three stands to help you consider the three main components of the Town Beach Master Plan;

    • Fixed exercise equipment
    • Amenity block and kiosk
    • Reserve upgrades
