At the June 2019 meeting Council also noted the strategic importance of a flood-free Primary Airport Access Road and decided that planning for this link (included as part of the Orbital engagement to date), would be progressed as a separate project in consultation with the Transport for NSW and the community, from this point forward.

At the February 2021 Ordinary Council Meeting, it was resolved to remove the realignment of Fernhill Road and any further investigations into the alignment of Fernhill Rd for all Proposed Primary Airport Access Road intersection options with the Oxley Highway. 2.A
