This consultation has concluded. Your feedback will be analysed and taken into account when preparing new waste contracts.

Waste collection is one of the Council services that impacts every household and everyone has an opinion on. We want to hear your opinion!

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is going to prepare new contracts for our waste collection and in order to make sure all the services are incorporated into the contract we need to know how you use the current services, what is most important to you and what you need more information about.

The waste collection contract covers a range of services including;

  • The distribution, replacement and collection of the three domestic bins (red, yellow and green)
  • Bulky kerbside waste collection
  • Distribution of kitchen food waste bins
  • Servicing of bulk transfer bins at Council waste facilities

Council has waste collection targets set by the State Government which aim to increase the resources recovered and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill. The development of new contracts needs to consider options for meeting these targets.

Have your say on options being considered for waste management.

Complete the survey and let Council know how you use the waste services and what is most important to you in the future.

The online survey will close on July 5 and be incorporated with responses to a random telephone survey of the same questions. This data will assist Council in developing the new waste contract, due to commence in 2014.
