Consultation has concluded
We are inviting comments on a proposal to change the zoning rules for land located at the corner of Bonny View Drive and Ocean Drive, Bonny Hills. This proposal would allow for the construction of a new Catholic high school in this location (Lots 6 & 7 DP 594792 and Lot 6 DP 594793).
The draft planning proposal requests to rezone the land from its current zone RU1 Primary Production to a mix of zones SP2 Infrastructure (educational establishments) and C2 Environmental Conservation. This change would make it possible to build the school while also protecting part of the land for environmental purposes.
This proposal is in line with a key action from the Port Macquarie-Hastings Urban Growth Management Strategy, which recommends looking into the potential of this area for light industrial development or use as a school.
