Consultation has concluded

Ensuring that we are open, honest and transparent with our community is essential for building trust.

Communicating often and frequently with the public brings our many shared priorities to life and demonstrates that we too, are part of the community; and that we understand the diverse needs, interests and expectations.

It is important to us to demonstrate transparency in all our decisions and be clear about our accountability to the public for the spend of public money. It is also important to us that our community understands our services, projects and plans and priorities and that we seek feedback to assist in decision making.

The draft Communications Policy outlines what we communicate, how we communicate and why we communicate.

In addition to utilising third party media channels (traditional media), we also utilise other channels (including our own) to target specific audiences keep our community informed.

The draft policy also outlines the specific roles of Elected officials and staff in communicating the decisions of Council and how we are implementing them.
