Our Communication Framework
PMHC is strengthening communication through greater consistency, transparency, and accessibility. There are three documents currently open for public feedback:
The three draft documents align with each other to establish a clear, consistent, and modern communications policy environment.
The draft Communications Strategy is the framework for governance and implementation, guiding consistent strategic and integrated communication across Council. Engagement on these policies provide stakeholders and the wider community with meaningful opportunities to have their say on the key documents that will inform how we communicate, make decisions, and govern our processes.
The Draft 2026–2030 Communications Strategy outlines how Council will keep the community informed over the next four years.
It focuses on clear, consistent, and transparent communication. This strategy provides a roadmap to make Council’s communications more effective, accessible, and relevant to the community.
Developed to incorporate best practice, including elements of the Office of Local Government’s Model Social Media Policy.
This is Council’s first external facing Social Media Policy applying to both Councillors and staff. It provides clear standards for Council’s use of social media platforms, including operational guidelines, monitoring, and risk management.
Refined to clarify roles, responsibilities, and alignment to Council's strategic direction. This Communications Policy sets an expectation for external communication that is consistent, accessible, and compliant with legislative and organisational requirements.
