The Draft Debt Recovery Policy establishes a fair, transparent and consistent approach to recovering outstanding debts owed to Council.

The policy applies to the recovery of: general rates and annual charges; water usage and sewerage charges and; sundry debtor invoices. It does not apply to fines or penalties issued under State legislation, e.g. parking fines, which are administered via Revenue NSW.

The review proposes amendments to the policy, which will be on public exhibition until 18 August 2025, so community feedback can be considered prior to final adoption.

During the exhibition, all interested persons are encouraged to view the draft policy and provide written comments. All comments will be reported to a future Council meeting for consideration before a final decision is made. Please note that any submission may be made public.
