This Policy is supported by and to be used in conjunction with Council’s Local Infrastructure Contributions Plans (LICP) and water supply and sewerage developer charges under Council's Development Servicing Plans (DSP). Development Contributions, also known as Local Infrastructure Contributions, are a levy charged by Council when new development occurs. These contributions are collected for funding public infrastructure that is required as a direct or indirect result of development, for example local roads, footpaths, community centres, sporting fields and parks.
The current Policy came into effect on 19 October 2016 and was to be reviewed by 19 October 2019. This Policy was proposed to be reviewed and updated to reflect the relevant legislation, Practice Notes and Council’s fees and charges, as indicated the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 21 March 2024 (Item No. 13.02) and placed on public exhibition from 28 March 2024 to 29 April 2024.
Since this Policy was placed on public exhibition, the Development Servicing Plan and Draft Local Infrastructure Plan (Draft LICP) have both incorporated the administrative requirements of this Policy. As such, it is proposed to repeal this Policy upon adoption of the (Draft LICP).
It is proposed the policy will be repealed and replaced with relevant draft administration appendices to Council’s Local Infrastructure Contributions Plan and Development Servicing Plan.
Please refer to the Council meeting Agenda report in the Document Library to the right along with other relevant documents.
The exhibition period closes 5pm, Monday June 2 2025.
