Council has developed a draft Establishment and Management of Committees Policy that includes the principles and guidelines for establishing and operating Council committees.
These principles and guidelines address:
- Community engagement
- Community Council Action Teams
- Roles of Committees in Local Government
- Types of Committees in Local Government
- Key Objectives in Establishing Committees
Council resolved at its August 2025 Ordinary Council meeting to place this draft policy on public exhibition for a period not less than 28 days with a further report to come back to Council detailing the outcomes of submissions.

During the public exhibition period, all interested persons are encouraged to view the draft policy and provide written comments. All comments will be reported to a future Council meeting for consideration before a final decision is made. Please note that any submission may be made public.
