We recognise the valuable contribution of volunteers and community organisations in building a resilient, inclusive and vibrant community.

The Draft Volunteering Policy is designed to guide the engagement, management and support of volunteers who contribute to Council's projects and activities, ensuring their involvement is safe, consistent, mutually beneficial and aligned with Council's goals and the community's expectations.

Who does this policy apply to?

This policy applies to all individuals, aged 14 years and above, intending to volunteer with Council, including committee and sub-committee members involved in Council organised activities or programs.

It also relates to insured community organisations volunteering on Council-managed land or projects on pre-approved agreements with Council, as well as Council staff who volunteer to be involved in activities or programs external to their normal work duties.
