Consultation has concluded

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is investigating the opportunity to upgrade and improve signage into our towns and villages.

Although we do not have timeframes in place at this stage for when this will be implemented we are seeking community input into the symbolism that will be on these gateway signs.

The signs are aimed at welcoming visitors to the region, informing them which town, village or suburb they are entering and to visually represent each individual centre.

There will be three tiers of signage:

Tier One: Example of main entry signs into the Camden Haven, Port Macquarie and the Wauchope / Hastings Hinterland.

Tier Two: Example of entry signs into the larger townships; for example Lake Cathie, Wauchope, Laurieton, Bonny Hills etc.

Tier Three: Example of signs into our smaller communities; for example Dunbogan, King Creek, Pappinbarra etc.

Council is seeking community input into the symbols and images on each sign for each community that will represent the individual character, history, landscape, flora and fauna of that town or village.

You can have a look at some of the concept designs located in the document Library on the right.

To share your ideas about symbols and images for the signage use the survey tab below.
