Consultation has concluded

Have you noticed a number of murals going up across the region of late? Bain Park amenities block, Town Beach, Flynns Beach, Town Beach Park amenities block….

In May 2022, Council endorsed the Graffiti and Vandalism Reward Scheme Policy that provides an effective framework to prevent, address, reduce and mitigate against graffiti.

The installation of murals on repeatedly targeted sites can greatly reduce the occurrences of graffiti, deter offenders and improve streetscapes, not to mention grow the skill base of our regions artists both established and emerging.

Have you noticed a council managed site that is vandalised with graffiti repeatedly?

As a part of our multi-pronged approach to graffiti vandalism, we want to hear from you about sites in your area that are hit by graffiti repeatedly. We want our region to be beautiful, safe and welcoming so we are looking for sites situated in highly visible locations that visually detract from our spaces and places.

Unfortunately, we can only work with council owned or managed sites, not sites that are privately or commercially owned.

Once we have a list of potential mural sites, we can seek funding to transform some of these sites from blank canvases for graffiti to an awesome new artwork that enhances our public place and environment!

When submitting a site please note:

  • the site must be located within the Port Macquarie-Hastings Local Government Area;
  • the site must be owned or managed by PMHC (not a private or commercial premises);
  • the site/wall must be publicly viewable (e.g. street facing), preferably at a profile location experienced by local community, passers-by and visitors to the area;
  • the site/wall must be a safe distance from electricity wires;
  • Unfortunately, not all sites will be appropriate for an artwork installation.

Please upload details on the location of the site, a photo of the site and drop a pin on the map so we know exactly where the site is located.
