Innes Gardens Memorial Park Chapel

Council is inviting community feedback on the future of Innes Gardens Memorial Park.

Recently, we received and considered proposals from providers of funeral, cemetery, crematoria and related services, to determine market interest in the potential sale or long-term lease of the Innes Gardens Memorial Park Crematorium and Lawn Cemetery.

The decision to determine market interest in the potential sale or lease of Innes Gardens Memorial Park was made in October 2018 following a Council-wide service review project, aimed at ensuring Council continues to deliver ‘best value’ across a broad range of services to meet the needs of the growing community.

We are now at the stage of entering into further negotiations with the organisations that registered an interest with Council during the recent process with a view (subject to further consideration by Council) to entering into a contract or other arrangement for the facility.

The proposed negotiations are aimed at identifying the benefits able to be offered by other providers, to further improve and expand the range of facilities and services available for the community at Innes Gardens Memorial Park.

Have a question?

To answer some of the questions you may have around the potential sale or lease and what it would mean for our community, we have compiled a Fact Sheet addressing a range of issues. You can also click on a question under the FAQ on the right.
