Infrastructure is key to the liveability of communities and helps to create vibrant places. There are many ways infrastructure can be funded, including through infrastructure contributions by developers.
We are undergoing the review and update of several strategic documents and infrastructure works schedules that align with current growth forecasts and legislative requirements.
Public Exhibition of Key Plans
The following draft plans are on Public Exhibition from 14 October to 22 November 2024.
- Port Macquarie Hastings Local Infrastructure Contributions Plan 2024 (LICP)
- Development Servicing Plan for Water Supply and Sewerage 2024 (DSPW&S)
These two plans, while related, fall under different legislation, and have different catchment boundaries.
We are seeking feedback on each of these draft plans during the Public Exhibition period.
Simultaneous Engagement
During this time, we are also seeking feedback on the Planning & Land Use Discussion Paper. We encourage you to find out more and join the conversation.
About the plans
The draft plans detail the infrastructure needed to support growth and outlines how Council will collect and use development contributions across a range of infrastructure. The Draft LICP does not include water supply and sewerage network contributions, which are covered by the Draft DSPW&S.
Both plans have been developed within relevant legislative frameworks and have been designed to align with local, state, and regional priorities based on current population forecasts.

More Information
We have developed a range of information brochures, fact sheets and FAQs to help you understand these plans and how they fit within our planning and legislative framework. Using our engagement level framework, we have identified these projects as "Consult". Find out what this means by reading our Community Engagement and Level of Influence Fact Sheet.
